GJ Elgar Construction supply and install a range of heavy duty roller shutter doors for agricultural and industrial buildings across Kent and the South East.
From replacement of failed shutters to complete new installations, we provide a full service from site survey through to commissioning.
Designed to Suit Your Building
Every project begins with a detailed site survey. We confirm opening sizes, assess structural support and review power supply and control locations. This allows us to specify the correct curtain type, gauge, finish and operation method.
Our roller shutter doors are available as:
- Single skin galvanised steel
- Insulated steel shutters
Both options can be colour coded during manufacture. Insulated doors can be supplied with different internal and external finishes where required.
Each door includes a heavy duty curtain, barrel assembly, guides, end plates and all required fixings. Safety brakes or anti-fall devices are fitted where required.
Electric shutters are available in single phase or three phase operation and can be controlled via key switch, push button or remote access. A manual override system is included for use during power failure.
All doors are supplied with bottom rubber seal and bird brush as standard.
Optional extras such as remote access, additional security features and externally fitted key switches can be incorporated.
Installation & Commissioning
Our installation service includes:
- Delivery of materials to site
- Preparation and setting out of the opening
- Installation of guides, end plates and barrel assembly
- Electrical connection to isolator provided by others unless specified
- Testing of safety devices and travel limits
- Full commissioning and handover demonstration
Where required, we can create a new structural opening as part of the installation.
All works are completed in accordance with DHF TS 012 and EN 13241 standards. Operation and maintenance manuals, warranty documentation and RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statement) are provided prior to works.
Servicing & Repairs
We also provide ongoing servicing and repair works to maintain safe operation.
Routine servicing includes inspection of the curtain, guides and barrel, lubrication where required, testing of motors and safety systems, and adjustment of tension or alignment. For fire shutters, drop testing can be completed where applicable.
Repairs may include replacement of damaged lath, motors, springs, guides, bottom rails, seals or electrical components. Service reports include photographic evidence and recommendations where required.
